Glen Foerd mansion sits along the Delaware River in the northeastern-most corner of Philly and is one of the best places in the city to study gulls during the winter. While there is no guarantee, chances are good to see a rare gull such as Iceland or Glaucous Gull. There should also be a good number of waterfowl out on the river, and the group can discuss how to distinguish Double-crested Cormorants from the Great Cormorants that visit the area in winter.
This experience is planned as a stationary event overlooking the river, but the parkland surrounding the mansion may also be explored.
